interactions
Dolphins don’t seem to have mutualism or commensalism but they do have parasitism. In any animal population a variety of parasites can cause the death of them. If a dolphin was to catch a parasite it may die as a result of getting it. Parasites that typically affect dolphins include tapeworms, flukes and roundworms.
Flukes
Predator
Dolphins don’t have many predators. Dolphins don’t worry a lot about being eaten. There only real predator is the shark. Dolphins have developed over the times to be pretty tough, so even most sharks stay away from them. Humans are the main predator towards dolphins.

Prey
Dolphins prey on sea foods and species of fish. They eat cod, mackerel, herring, shrimp and sardines. Larger dolphins mostly feed on other marine mammals such as turtles, octopus, seals, sea lions and occasionally birds.

Abiotic Interactions
A dolphin’s environment may affect the dolphin. Salt levels can affect the dolphin for example if it is too salty the dolphin may become dehydrated. Water temperature can affect where the dolphin swims. It will find water that is a good temperature. Light can also affect a dolphin as they may not be well camouflaged when closer to the surface as their is more light. If they are a fair way below the surface where there is no light, they have to rely on other senses to see, hunt and communicate.
